Frequently asked questions
Does my pet need sedation for an X-ray?
Not always. Many cooperative pets can be X-rayed without sedation. For painful or anxious pets, or when precise positioning is needed, light sedation may be recommended for their comfort and image quality.
How long does a pet ultrasound take?
A standard abdominal ultrasound takes around 20–40 minutes depending on what we are looking at. Your pet may need to have their fur clipped in a small area for the probe to make contact with the skin.
Is X-ray radiation safe for my pet?
Yes. Digital X-ray uses very low radiation doses and is safe for a single or occasional study. The diagnostic benefit far outweighs any minimal risk.
