Vaccinations
Vaccinations are one of the most important steps you can take to protect your pet’s long-term health. They prepare the immune system to recognise and fight serious infectious diseases before your pet is ever exposed to them.
Many of these diseases are highly contagious, expensive to treat, and in some cases fatal — yet entirely preventable with proper vaccination.

Why Vaccinate?
-
Protects against life-threatening diseases
-
Reduces the spread of infection in the community
-
Required for travel, boarding, and grooming facilities
-
More cost-effective than treating preventable illness
Core Vaccines for Dogs
Core vaccines are recommended for all dogs, regardless of lifestyle:
-
Canine Distemper
-
Canine Parvovirus
-
Canine Adenovirus (Hepatitis)
-
Rabies
Depending on your dog’s lifestyle, we may also recommend additional protection such as kennel cough (Bordetella).
Core Vaccines for Cats
Core vaccines are recommended for all cats:
-
Feline Panleukopenia
-
Feline Herpesvirus
-
Feline Calicivirus
-
Rabies
Lifestyle-based vaccines, such as Feline Leukemia (FeLV), may be advised for cats with outdoor access or exposure risk.
Puppy & Kitten Vaccination Schedule
Young pets require a series of vaccinations to build strong immunity. These typically begin at 6–8 weeks of age and continue every 3–4 weeks until approximately 16 weeks of age.
Booster vaccinations are then required annually (or as advised) to maintain protection.
Are Vaccines Safe?
Vaccines are very safe and closely regulated. Mild side effects such as slight lethargy or tenderness at the injection site may occur. Serious reactions are rare, and we always assess your pet before administering any vaccine.
