Why does my pet need wellness exams?
Wellness exams are designed to prevent common, treatable illnesses and to identify health concerns as early as possible. Preventive care is almost always far less costly than treating a condition once it has progressed. Most importantly, early detection and timely treatment significantly improve the chances of a positive outcome for your pet.
How often does my pet need wellness exams?
The ideal frequency depends on your pet’s age and overall health.
Puppies and kittens require more frequent visits to monitor growth and development and to complete their vaccination schedules.
Adult cats and dogs should ideally be examined every six months to ensure ongoing health and early detection of subtle changes.
Senior pets or those with chronic conditions may benefit from more frequent check-ups to closely monitor their wellbeing.
Regular visits allow us to spot small changes before they become bigger problems.
What happens during a wellness exam?
Our comprehensive nose-to-tail assessment includes examination of the teeth and gums, ears, eyes, heart and lungs, abdomen, skin, coat, and musculoskeletal system.
We will administer any required vaccinations and recommend annual diagnostic screening such as blood tests, faecal testing, and heartworm and tick-borne disease screening. For senior pets or those with specific medical concerns, more frequent or advanced diagnostics may be advised.
We also take a personalised approach to preventive care, offering tailored guidance on nutrition , weight management, lifestyle, and exercise to support your pet at every life stage.
